FAQs

Can Plate Frames Work as Event and Sponsorship Giveaways?

Yes. A branded plate frame is a giveaway that leaves the event and keeps advertising on someone else's car for years, which most tradeshow swag can't claim. The tradeoff is lead time: because every frame is custom-manufactured, it has to be ordered well ahead of the event date, not grabbed off a shelf the week before.

Can plate frames work as a giveaway at a sponsorship or community event?

Yes, and they tend to outperform typical swag on longevity, since a frame stays mounted on a vehicle rather than getting tossed in a drawer. The main planning difference from your regular lot inventory is timing — event giveaways need a firm design and quantity locked in well before the date, with no room for a last-minute reorder.

How is an event giveaway frame different from a delivery-install frame?

A delivery-install frame goes straight onto a purchased vehicle, so installation is guaranteed. A giveaway frame is handed to someone loose, so whether it ever gets installed depends on the recipient. Keep the design simple and universal — dealership name and logo, no delivery-specific details — and consider including basic mounting hardware to make installation easy.

How far ahead of an event should we order?

Frontline Frames' standard lead time is 2–3 weeks from order confirmation. Build in extra time for design approval and any proof or sample rounds before that clock starts, and lock your quantity and design at least four weeks out from the event date as a safe buffer. For a firm date, confirm current turnaround with us directly.

Can we co-brand a frame with a sponsored team, school, or charity logo?

Yes — the builder supports logo upload, so a second mark can sit alongside your dealership branding. Keep your dealership logo and colors as the primary element and treat the sponsorship logo as secondary, both for brand consistency and because the imprint area on a frame is small enough that two competing focal points get crowded fast.

How many frames should we order for a tradeshow or community event?

Count realistic expected attendance rather than the venue's maximum capacity, then add a margin for no-shows and for people who pick one up without being a real prospect. There's no universal ratio that fits every event type — a packed community festival and a targeted VIP sponsor dinner call for very different math.

It's also worth separating a giveaway order from your standard delivery-frame order rather than trying to stretch one combined order across both purposes — the design, timing, and quantity logic are different enough that treating them as one order tends to leave one use case shortchanged.

Are plate frames cost-effective compared to other giveaway swag?

A plate frame's advantage over disposable swag is durability, not necessarily unit cost — it's designed to stay in use for years rather than get discarded within days. Whether that tradeoff makes sense for a given event depends on your budget and the audience; use the builder to see live pricing at your target quantity.

Can we personalize frames for VIP customers or contest winners?

Yes, top and bottom text can be customized per design in the builder. Producing many individually different personalized frames in a single small run is a more complex order than a standard batch, so if you need per-person personalization for a VIP list, talk to us ahead of time to plan the order correctly.

Do people who receive a giveaway frame actually install it?

There's no way to guarantee it — installation is entirely up to the recipient once the frame leaves your hands. What you can control is making the frame easy to install (include hardware, keep the design self-explanatory) and worth keeping, since a frame that looks disposable is more likely to get treated that way.

Can we order a small batch for a one-time event?

Frontline Frames supports one-off bulk orders as well as recurring subscriptions, so a single event order is a normal use case. Our minimum is 250 frames, so a one-time event order needs to clear that bar — worth planning around if the event is small. Pricing at each volume is shown live in the builder — check there or ask us directly if you're planning a small, one-time run.

Because a one-time event order doesn't repeat automatically the way a subscription does, keep a record of the exact design and quantity you ordered — it makes reordering for a similar event next season much faster than starting the design from scratch again.

Can we reuse a giveaway frame design for next year's version of the same event?

Yes, and it's usually the simplest approach for a recurring event — reorder the same approved design rather than starting a new one, unless the sponsorship details or your branding have changed since. Keeping a record of exactly what you ordered the first time makes this a quick reorder instead of a fresh design project each year.

Should sponsorship frames use different text than our standard lot frames?

Often, yes. Event-specific wording — "Proud Sponsor of [Team/Cause]" — signals the occasion and gives the giveaway context, while your dealership name and logo should stay consistent with your standard branding so the frame still reads as recognizably yours once the event context is gone.

Can we use the same frame design across multiple events in one season?

Yes, and it's usually the more efficient approach — a single reusable event design covers a whole sponsorship season instead of commissioning a new one for every stop. Keep the wording general enough to apply broadly ("Proud Community Sponsor" rather than one specific event's name and date) if you know you'll reuse the same batch across several occasions.

Do giveaway frames need different hardware than install frames?

Not structurally, but including basic mounting hardware with a giveaway frame removes a real barrier to installation, since a recipient without the right screws on hand is far less likely to ever put it on their car. An install frame at delivery skips this problem entirely because your own team handles the mounting.

How do we measure ROI on giveaway frames versus delivery frames?

Delivery frames tie cleanly to a sale; giveaway frames are harder to trace since you don't control where they end up. A simple approach is a unique piece of text or a tracking phone extension specific to that event's frame batch, so any resulting inquiry can be attributed back to the sponsorship or event it came from.

What if we run out of frames mid-event?

Because production isn't instant, you can't restock the same event once you're out — plan quantities with a real buffer rather than counting on a reorder to save a shortfall. For future events, ordering a modest reserve beyond your estimate is cheaper than an unhappy sponsor or an empty giveaway table.

Keep a small standing reserve of your current design on hand year-round if you sponsor events regularly — it turns a scramble into a same-day fix the next time attendance runs ahead of plan.
